Last week Josiah's ( my boyfriend's ) family decided to rent a cabin up in Gatlinburg, TN and invited me to come :) I was so excited because Tennessee holds a lot of great memories for me and some of our incredible family lives up there as well.
On the first two days we were in Gatlinburg, the next day we went to Knoxville, and then the last day we made our way over to Chattanooga. The cabin we stayed at in Gatlinburg was incredible. It was on top of a mountain and had an incredible view above the clouds.
On the first day we were in Gatlinburg we went to this little place called The Island. It's a really cute shopping and entertainment center. There are rides, shops, arcades, and restaurants! Plenty of fun to stay the whole day (which we did!)
Josiah looked so handsome so of course I had to have a little photo session of him!
On the second day in Gatlinburg we went to the Museum of Wax Figures. I've wanted to go there since I was little, so I was so excited when I found out we were going! I'm so glad I got to experience it with the people I did, they made it the most fun experience.
Josiah's nieces and nephews are the cutest, funniest kids I know! At every wax figure they had to stop and put on props to get into character with them. It was so much fun!
Elvis is MY FAVORITE. So of course I had to stop and take a photo with him.
On the third day we went to Knoxville and spent the day with my cousins and my grandmother. I didn't get any photos from this day because I was spending too much time catching up. I love when I get to go visit them and when I do I like to enjoy every moment of it.
That night we made the drive over to Chattanooga where Josiah's sister and brother live. We stayed the night with his sister and had dinner and played games with all of his siblings, it was the best.
The next day we decided to go to the Chattanooga Aquarium. Let me tell you, the butterfly exhibit is the BEST EVER. I love butterflies and getting to hold them really is something out of a fairytale.
The Jellyfish are another favorite of mine. They're so whimsical and dreamy, I could watch them for hours.
Another must see at the Chattanooga Aquarium is the electric eel they have! They have probes in the water that detect whenever the eel is sending off discharge of electricity and it will show you the intensity of the shock. We stayed there for a good 30 minutes watching the eel play in the plants, it was adorable because the more he played with the plants, the more he got excited and the more he got excited, the more jolts of energy he put out. It was amazing.
After the aquarium we decided it was time for some sweets and made our way over to Clumpie's Ice Cream Shop. I'm not a big ice cream fan so finding a place that has sherbets or non-dairy ice cream is always a plus. Josiah really liked his ice cream and I really liked my cherry-lime sherbet. It was a win-win all around.
